Ollie tells me he had fun yesterday at his first dog show! Mom had to handle him after all, our breeder was going to do it but Baby Ollie got too nervous before going in the ring. Good thing ya bought that new outfit at Kohl's Saturday night, huh Mom??
He got to meet other Bedlingtons who show and they were really helpful:
Cousin Vegas was there telling him to look pretty and have fun. He's had a LOT of show experience and was just visiting that day. I used to show against him now and then.
Ollie getting a final comb-out before the long walk to the ring.
Ollie said he was SO relieved to see Mom and have her take him in. He's waiting with Jamie, who's Josie's half-sister, who ended up winning 2 points in her class. Yea!
"Ooh this isn't so bad. And Mom's wearing a DRESS -- wow!"
"mmphfmmfphhh.. she put her finger in my mouth!"
"Yeah, let's get away from her!"
"And here we come back again... hey Mom it's hot out here.."
Since Oll was the only 6-9 month puppy entered, he won a blue ribbon! Yeaaa!
So then he had to come back for Winners Dog against the other males who won their classes. He was the littlest guy there and so young.. but so pretty, everyone said. Didn't win but that's totally OK. He did beautifully, Mom said.
That ring in PA was so wet. Mom didn't want to get down on the ground to stack Ollie but she had to. Ew! His next show is in southern MD in 2 weeks with Mom handling again, probably.
Mom also said I was lots worse to handle at my first dog show -- I wouldn't even walk up to the judge, I was afraid of him! I think Mom's making that up. Who me, afraid?? (MOM: No, you WERE afraid of the judge!) I can't believe it...
Next weekend it'll be MY turn to shine -- agility again! 'Bout time, I'm getting bored..
Love,
